What UAE corporate tax is
Taxable income up to AED 375,000 is taxed at 0%. This protects small profits and new businesses.
Taxable income above AED 375,000 is taxed at 9%. It applies to financial years starting on or after 1 June 2023.
The Ministry of Finance sets policy; the Federal Tax Authority administers it under Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022.

Do free zone companies pay corporate tax in the UAE?
Free zone companies must register for corporate tax. A Qualifying Free Zone Person can pay 0% on qualifying income. Non-qualifying income is taxed at 9%. The rules are strict. We check your status and confirm your rate.
Who must register for UAE corporate tax?
Most UAE businesses must register. This includes mainland companies and free zone companies. It covers many freelancers with a licence too. Registration is separate from paying – you register even if your profit is under AED 375,000.
What is Small Business Relief?
Small Business Relief lets some businesses be treated as having no taxable income. Your revenue must stay under the set threshold for the period. This relief is time-limited under FTA rules. We check if you qualify before you file.
When is the corporate tax return due?
You file within nine months of your financial year end. For a year ending 31 December, the return is due by 30 September the next year. You get one return per tax period. We file yours on time.
