What We Check Before Every Return
Valid tax invoices
You can only claim input VAT with a proper tax invoice. It must show the supplier’s TRN.
Blocked costs
You can’t claim VAT on entertainment for people outside your staff. The FTA also blocks VAT on cars available for personal use.
Reverse charge
Imports and many foreign services need reverse charge. You report the VAT yourself. You claim it back in the same return if the cost is for your taxable business.
Credit notes and bad debts
Refunds and unpaid invoices change your output VAT. We adjust them correctly.
Zero-rated sales
Exports need proof, like shipping papers or the foreign client’s details. No proof means 5% VAT.
New suppliers
Check big new suppliers are real businesses before you claim their VAT. The rules below explain why.
Who our VAT service is for
You’re growing fast. You need someone to watch the AED 375,000 line for you.
You sell on Amazon.ae, Noon or your own store. Your marketplace reports must match your VAT returns. Refunds and fees often break that match.
Many owners think free zone means no VAT. That’s wrong for most businesses. Only some goods moved between designated zones (special customs areas) get special treatment.
Services to clients outside the UAE can be zero-rated. Strict conditions apply, so we check each contract. You still register and file, and you often get VAT back on your costs.
You often mix standard-rated, zero-rated and exempt supplies. You can only claim part of your input VAT. The split needs a proper method.
You have late returns or messy records. We clean up the backlog and file what’s missing.
How We Work: Registration to Filing
In 30 minutes, we look at your sales, costs and current VAT status. You learn where you stand straight away.
It’s based on your real transaction volume.
We register you, or we take over from your current accountant. You give us EmaraTax access. We handle the handover.
We collect your records after the period ends. We prepare the return, send it for your approval and file it. Then we remind you to pay before the due date.
We answer FTA letters, track rule changes and tell you what they mean for you.
What does an ACCA qualified VAT consultant in Dubai cost?
Your corporate tax fee depends on your business. We give you a fixed quote after the free consultation – nothing hidden.
You get a written quote after your free VAT check. We don't add anything later without your approval.
What sets your price
- Transactions.
More invoices and bills mean more checking time. - Books.
Clean books make returns fast. A backlog needs bookkeeping first. - Supplies.
Zero-rated, exempt or mixed supplies take extra work. - Catch-up work.
Late returns or voluntary disclosures cost extra, once.
Why businesses choose DASA for VAT Services
If we keep your books, your returns come straight from them. The numbers match.
The same records feed both taxes. Our corporate tax services in Dubai use them for your yearly return.
We’re part of the UK-based DASA Group.
We tell you what the rule means for your business in plain words.
Some VAT consultants only file what you send them. We check it first. A wrong return costs more than a late one.
What late VAT costs you
| What went wrong | FTA penalty |
|---|---|
| Late VAT registration | AED 10,000 |
| Late VAT return, first time | AED 1,000 |
| Late VAT return, again within 24 months | AED 2,000 |
| Late VAT payment | 14% a year on the unpaid tax, charged monthly |
Our guide to FTA penalties in the UAE explains each VAT fine and how the FTA works it out.
One missed filing can cost more than months of VAT services.
Common questions about VAT consultancy in Dubai
Can you take over from my current accountant?
Yes. You give us access to your EmaraTax account and your records. We check your last returns for errors before we file the next one. The switch doesn’t change your TRN or your filing dates.
I missed a VAT deadline. What should I do?
File the return and pay the tax as soon as you can. The late payment penalty grows every month. If an old return has errors, a voluntary disclosure usually costs less than an FTA finding.
Do free zone companies pay VAT?
Yes, most do. A free zone company registers and charges VAT like any other business. Some goods moved between designated zones get special treatment. Services don’t. We check how the rules apply to your activity.
How often do I file VAT returns?
Most businesses file every quarter. The FTA sets your tax period when you register. Some large businesses file every month. Each return is due 28 days after the period ends.
What records must I keep for VAT?
Keep your tax invoices, credit notes, import papers and bank records. Keep your VAT returns and working files too. The FTA can ask for them for at least five years.
What's the difference between a VAT consultant and an FTA tax agent?
An FTA tax agent appears on the FTA’s official list of tax agents. A tax agent can represent you in your dealings with the FTA. Many VAT consultants aren’t registered tax agents. Ask any VAT consultant for their agent number before you sign.
Do I need a VAT consultant if I use accounting software?
Software records your numbers. It doesn’t know if a supply is zero-rated or exempt. It can’t answer an FTA letter either. Many clients keep their software and use us for checks and filing.
